Meals from the Heartland

title

Meals from the Heartland is a movement started in 2008 that packages food from Iowa and sends it around the world.  Financial support is raised through numerous organizations and churches like our own.  Typically, in September, Hy-Vee Hall in downtown Des Moines is transformed into a food packaging center where the dry food, vitamins, and spices will be combined into meals large enough to feed and nourish a family.  Olivet reserves spaces for people in our church to join the packaging efforts.  This is a great opportunity for the entire family to join with 1000’s from across Des Moines to assemble millions of meals for the hungry.  As this event approaches you will find information in the Announcements section of the website.
